Rental accommodation can often be costly, insecure or poorly maintained. Homeshare Leicestershire aims to remedy that through homes built on mutual benefit and kindness.
Rental accommodation in both Leicester and Leicestershire can be expensive. Very often shared accommodation is dirty, poorly maintained and noisy leaving people living in houses of multiple occupancy tired and with a sense of feeling unsafe.
Homeshare Leicestershire enables homeowners with a spare bedroom to share their home in a safe and supported manner. Many homeowners have lived in their home for many years and have lots of memories attached to their home. Homesharers have their own private bedroom and access to other areas in the home including the kitchen and the bathroom. Many houses have gardens and parking included.
In return for free accommodation, Homesharers provide about 10 hours a week of assistance to their homeowner. This could include some household cleaning tasks, shopping, ironing, cooking or going out to the theatre together!
At no point do homesharers provide any domiciliary care services such as bathing, personal care or medication administration. It is solely domestic assistance and companionship.
Homeshare Leicestershire does not arrange tenancies. No housing contracts will be entered into, rather, a Licence to Occupy is signed.
